Riverside Jukido Jujitsu is hosting their Annual Women’s Self Defense Workshop at the Windsor Locks CT Town Hall Gym, a special event designed for girls and women ages 6 to 99. What You Will Learn at the Women’s Self Defense Workshop

This workshop is perfect for anyone who wants to gain confidence and learn how to protect themselves in everyday situations. The instructors at Riverside Jukido Jujitsu will teach simple, effective techniques that are easy to remember and use. These moves focus on practical skills that can help you escape danger and stay safe.

The workshop welcomes girls and women from age 6 to 99, making it a family-friendly event where mothers and daughters can learn together. The techniques are tailored to be accessible for all ages and fitness levels, so you don’t need any prior experience in martial arts.

Learning self-defense is not just about physical moves. It also builds awareness, confidence, and a sense of control. These skills can help you feel safer walking alone, traveling, or in any situation where you might feel vulnerable.

Supporting a Great Cause While You Learn

One of the most meaningful parts of this workshop is that your participation helps support the Connecticut Coalition Against Domestic Violence. This organization works hard to provide resources and support for survivors of domestic violence in the community.

By joining the workshop, you are not only investing in your own safety but also contributing to a cause that makes a real difference in many lives. The $10 donation per participant goes directly to this coalition, helping fund their important work.

You can make your donation at the event or send it ahead via Venmo @RSJUKIDO. Just remember to include the names of the participants in the notes section when you send your payment.

What to Wear and How to Prepare

To get the most out of the workshop, it’s important to wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely. Think of clothes you would wear for exercise or sports—loose-fitting pants, t-shirts, or athletic wear work best.

Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated, and come ready to learn and have fun. The instructors will guide you through each step, making sure everyone feels comfortable and supported.
